Internship Experience

The experience of working as an intern of social media specialist and web developer at the Radio of America was more than fascinating. It molded me to a perfect web developer as I advanced my career. Working at the station gave me a chance to understand some of the critical aspects of success as a social media specialist. One of the crucial things it helped me discover is that communication was an essential aspect to achieve in the career. Additionally, I learned that it is vital to have the capability of multi-tasking when working. Also, I learned of the need to ask the right questions at the appropriate time. To be successful in this field, you have to keep time in all aspects.

Another critical aspect of being successful in this career is the need to have a professional attitude to earn someone in the competitive market. At the same time, having the ability to network with people will give one an excellent chance for prosperity. The various courses undertaken under the developing web system teach the need to associate with other people to gain experience in the field. In my internship at the station, I was made the assistant manager of web designing, which gave me various roles that boosted my practical and theoretical knowledge in the field. To be proper in this position, I had to have open and realistic objectives that would drive me to attain the set goals.

The first objective was to attain knowledge of how the station works and carries out its practices. The other goal was to have adverse knowledge in maneuvering through the system, developing new ideas for the social and web handles. The report generated would guide me in knowing and generating more advanced concepts that can be applied in the station. The information was also expected to derive a report that examines the station’s reputation through the report portrayed by the customer representatives.

To have a clear and accurate representation of the nature of the work assigned, I applied different strategies and methodologies. The primary method was to engage with the higher authority, who would permit my application of different approaches to facilitate the station in having more customers. Additionally, this allowed me to meet face to face with some of the people in charge of various departments to discuss the way forward for the station. The secondary sources that I applied in giving the station a new and reliable system were from reading the various records that the station had. These include sources such as journals, bronchus, and websites that previously existed. Personal files and appraisal forms also ensured that I attained the correct information when working in the station.

Career and Career Goals

Social media and web development are fast-growing forms of artistic expression that majors in technical writing skills and computer programming to create websites. The salary earned by web developers is appealing and continues to increase as more specialized skills are introduced. Formal education and training form a critical aspect in the preparation and experience of a web developer. Through surveys, it is clear that most companies are adopting websites and need the skills of trained and experienced developers. Through legal issues and adopting different steps, I was guided on the step to take in following a career choice in web development.

The growing internet has created new jobs for many of us. Most companies have websites and require web technologists, which we are trained to handle depending on the company’s individual needs. The demand for specialists requires that one has outstanding experience that one can acquire internally. Due to the high cost of paying a web admin, companies have resulted in hiring web developers. They are taking on more roles. Thus; there is a need to upgrade on the skills and experiences. With the growing technology, having new skills and being aware of more parts will enable one to perform their job correctly.

In this career, having short and long-term goals will serve a great deal in ensuring that I stay focused in my area of interest and eventually grow with time. I aim to work closely with the company managers and owners and find the best way to increase work efficiency in various companies. To be successful in this goal planning, I have to be focused and stay positive. I have goals that are feasible and have control over. Breaking down the goals into small achievable tasks has enabled me to scale the time for achieving more in this career. Most importantly, I have a time frame for everything that allows me to keep track of my achievements in this career.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus your own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
